Monstercat – Music Marketer (Remote, CA, US)

Monstercat is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Music Marketer to join its project management team. This role oversees the marketing lifecycle for a roster of music releases – from marketing planning, creative ideation, and budget allocation, to execution, monitoring, and reporting.

This individual is responsible for developing and delivering creative marketing strategies that align with artists’ visions, maintaining strong lines of communication internally and externally, and delivering streaming and revenue results in line with Monstercat’s performance goals. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and creative thinker, a fan of electronic music, and can demonstrate previous success as a project manager.


What You’ll Do

Product Coordination & Strategy:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing campaigns (singles, EPs, and LPs) that align with Monstercat’s and artists’ strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with artists and their management teams, communicating label plans and expectations.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments including Design, Digital Marketing, A&R, Streaming and Radio, and Sync & Partnerships, ensuring cohesion across upcoming releases.
  • Ensure all public-facing assets and communications are in line with Monstercat’s brand identities.

Marketing Planning:

  • Manage per-project budgets and recommend appropriate media mix for active campaigns.
  • Compile and distribute release notes, marketing collateral, and timelines for upcoming releases.
  • Ensure timely delivery and distribution of release assets, content, and information, both internally and externally.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Use data from DSPs and Monstercat’s analytics tools to monitor release performance and flag upward streaming trends.
  • Evaluate the growth and engagement of artist’s official channels, using data to inform future content marketing strategies for social, community, and direct messaging.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, remaining up to date on Electronic Music trends and sharing new opportunities with internal teams.

About You
  • 2+ years experience in project management, marketing, artist management or related music industry position.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet hard deadlines in a high volume environment.
  • Successful experience managing project budgets, recommending media mix, and ensuring timely delivery of release assets.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with artists and their management teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Business, Project Management, or Marketing/Communications is preferred; or a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A love of music is essential; experience or expertise in Electronic music culture a strong plus.
  • Must have an active passport – this is a remote position that may occasionally require travel.
Location

Vancouver or Toronto, Canada preferred. Open to candidates elsewhere in Canada, or in Los Angeles, California. This is a remote role – for staff located in LA, we do have an office staff may choose to work from.
